- Forward Fold exhibition poster/catalog
For the book artist Barbara Tetenbaum’s 2025 retrospective exhibition at Reed College’s Feldenheimer Gallery, we created a poster that converts easily into a short exhibition catalogue.
The initial state is a reasonably sized flat sheet (12 × 25.5 in.; not too much larger than the standard 11 × 17 used for most posters in a college environment) printed on both sides. The front contains the exhibition-specific information suitable to a poster, surrounded by illustrations and captions for each of the artist’s books included in the exhibition as well as chunks of a brief essay by artist and curator Gerri Ondrizek. The sheet has been scored down the middle and perforated twice, so that you can tear down the poster and fold the resulting folios into a pamphlet that distributes illustrations and essay into the proper order.

The back panel features a diagram showing how to assemble the poster into a pamphlet; if you were some kind of animal, I suppose you could then staple them together, but the diagram also provides information on how to sew them, gracefully, into a 12-page chapbook.
